Is Advisory Monks Consulting a US-based firm? +
Advisory Monks Consulting's operations team is based in India, but we serve exclusively US clients and are staffed by CPAs and Enrolled Agents trained and certified in US tax law and accounting standards. Our parent company has served clients since 2021. We operate under the .io domain (advisorymonks.io) for the US practice.
What makes Advisory Monks Consulting different from local CPAs? +
Three key differences: (1) Proactive, not reactive — we flag issues before they become problems. (2) A dedicated CPA who knows your business deeply — not a rotating team. (3) Cost-effective — typically 40-60% less than traditional CPA firms, with the same or better quality.
What software do you use? Do I need to switch? +
We work with your existing software — QuickBooks Online, Xero, Wave, or others. If you don't have accounting software, we set up QBO or Xero as part of onboarding. Client documents are shared through your secure Zoho client portal.
How long does onboarding take? +
Most clients are fully onboarded within 5-7 business days. This includes connecting your accounts, setting up your client portal, reviewing historical books, and introducing you to your dedicated CPA.
Can you handle catch-up bookkeeping? +
Yes. We frequently onboard clients who are months or years behind on their books. We provide a transparent, one-time quote for catch-up work, then maintain your books going forward on a monthly plan.
Do you work with international businesses operating in the US? +
Absolutely — this is a specialty. We work extensively with Indian founders with US C-Corps, UK companies with US subsidiaries, and cross-border businesses requiring FBAR, FATCA, Form 5471/5472, and transfer pricing support.
What is your cancellation and refund policy? +
You can cancel at any time. For monthly plans, we refund pro-rated unused days in the current billing period. For annual plans, we refund unused full months. No cancellation penalties, ever. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Do you handle IRS correspondence and notices? +
For all plans, we help you understand and respond to routine IRS correspondence. Full IRS representation (audit defense) is coming soon and will be available in our Enterprise plan.
Is my financial data secure? +
Security is paramount. Your documents are stored in a Zoho-powered client portal with bank-level encryption. We follow strict data handling protocols and never share your information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
